Black History Month

Last Friday we celebrated Black History Month with our 15th annual African American History Program.  The theme for this was “Diversity”.    This stood for Different Individuals Valuing Each other Regardless of Skin, Intellects, Talents, or Years.  We enjoyed watching 5th-8th grade choirs, Jarvis Christian College Choir, Sgt. Harris on the tribal drums, chants from NJHS students, a dance from JJHS Student Council, and a moving speech from Pastor Mark Markle.  Many students stood before their peers with speaking parts.  Several community members and teachers  were honored for their service to the students of Marion county.  The program was a great success thanks to both the students and staff at JJHS.  Check out some of the pictures below from the program.
