December News

This past week students worked really hard to complete benchmark testing.  The data from these tests will help teachers to plan instruction for the next nine weeks.

Parents should be looking for progress reports to come home with students today.

The countdown is on for our Christmas break (3 1/2 days)!  Don't forget that Friday is an early release day.  Students will be dismissed at 12:00 P.M.

Stay tuned for pictures from our Choir/Band school performance and our Ugly Sweater Contest!

JJHS Fun!

The last two weeks have been full of excitement! We've had things like  a Red Ribbon Week "Selfie Station", a cowboy themed pep rally, our very own dance team, the Sparklers, first performance, a choir concert, visitors from Wiley College, and our limo ride and pizza lunch for students who met the fundraiser goal.  Oh and have you heard that BOTH our 7th and  8th grade football teams are DISTRICT CHAMPS???  Way to go Bullpups!  Whew!!!  Check out all of the pictures!

Red Ribbon Week

Today was the first day of Red Ribbon Week at JJHS!  All of the students were decked out in their red clothes to show that we are drug free!  Tomorrow's theme is "Hats off to Drugs!"  Everyone wear a hat to show your support.

We are also lucky enough to have Marty Breeze returning to our campus  to entertain us and talk about how drugs can negatively impact our futures!

Unity Day was a hit!  Here are a few shots of some of our students wearing orange to show that we are uniting against bullying at JJHS!

Stay tuned next week for pictures from Red Ribbon Week and our 1st Nine Weeks Celebration Day!

Seventh and eighth grade love lunch bunch!  We have lunch together once a week, talk about our week, play games, and have fun!

Last week's pep rally was so much fun!  Some of the cheerleaders and football players had a "switch" day and each had fun switching roles.  We all wore PINK to show our support in the fight against cancer.  The teachers and students paired up for some friendly competition, and the 7th grade teacher/student team came out as the winners!  Way to go 7th grade! We also had a visiting "Bulldog" to help entertain at our pep rally.

Don't forget tomorrow is a "Blast from the Past"--wear your 80's attire!

The JJHS choirs performing for the student body. It was as AWESOME show!  Great job choirs and Mrs. Peeler!

National Bullying Prevention Month

This year we are participating in PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Month in October.

JJHS is joining with others across the nation to help prevent bullying.  This week we are talking about bullying through classroom guidance lessons.

Please join us on October 22nd by wearing orange to show your support as we  "Unite Against Bullying".  We hope to send the message that “When we stand together, no one stands alone.”

Bullpup Rockstars

This has been a GREAT week at JJHS!  Both the 7th and 8th grade football teams came out with wins against Sabine last night!  GO BULLPUPS!  We also had some 'rockstars' at our pep rally yesterday!
